Lily Stewart, a 20-year-old University of Georgia student, was arrested early Sunday morning for the second time in less than a month, according to Athens-Clarke County jail records.
Stewart was booked at approximately 5:30 a.m. on misdemeanor charges of obstruction of a law enforcement officer and loitering/prowling. She posted a $4,000 bond and was released from custody shortly before 11 a.m. The circumstances leading to her latest arrest remain unclear, and neither the University of Georgia Police Department nor Stewart’s attorney has commented on the matter.
This marks Stewart’s second arrest in March. On March 8, she garnered national attention after her mugshot went viral on social media. In that incident, Stewart was pulled over twice for speeding—first while driving 85 mph in a 55 mph zone and again moments later for the same offense. Her smiling mugshot, complete with pearl earrings and styled hair, sparked widespread online discussion, with users dubbing her “Miss America” and joking about her “basic white girl aesthetic”.

Stewart embraced her unexpected internet fame, sharing humorous reactions to her mugshot on TikTok and telling People magazine she found the situation “hilarious.” Despite the lighthearted response to her earlier arrest, Stewart now faces scrutiny following her second booking.
The sophomore is a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority at UGA and has yet to publicly address her latest legal troubles. University officials have not released statements regarding either incident.
