Three people were killed early Tuesday morning in a shooting at a home in Louisville’s Portland neighborhood, according to police.
Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) spokesperson Aaron Ellis said officers from the First Division responded to a residence in the 2200 block of Griffiths Avenue shortly before 5 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered two men and one woman – later identified as Mallory Cox, 37, David Clark Jr., 49, and Robert Auter, 37 – who had all sustained fatal gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel pronounced the victims dead at the scene.
The LMPD Homicide Unit is leading the investigation, but no suspects have been identified at this time. Authorities are urging anyone with information, including photos or videos from the area, to contact their tip line at (502) 574-5673 or submit tips online anonymously.
This incident marks another violent episode in Louisville, a city that has faced rising concerns over gun violence. Police have not disclosed whether the victims were connected or if there is any known motive behind the shooting.
“This is a tragic loss of life,” Ellis said in a statement. “Our detectives are working diligently to uncover what happened and bring justice for the victims.”
The triple homicide comes just weeks after another high-profile shooting outside a motor vehicle office in Louisville that left three dead. That case also remains under investigation.
Residents in the Portland neighborhood expressed shock and concern over the latest violence. “It’s heartbreaking to see this happening so close to home,” said one neighbor who wished to remain anonymous.
As police continue their investigation, local officials are calling for community cooperation to help solve the case and prevent further tragedies.
