A small twin-engine aircraft crashed near the Boca Raton Airport on Friday morning, bursting into flames along a busy street, authorities confirmed. The crash occurred near Military Trail and Glades Road, a heavily trafficked intersection, disrupting local traffic and drawing emergency responders to the scene.
The aircraft, identified as a Cessna 310R, had three people aboard and was headed to the nearby Tallahassee International Airport, according to police and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Flight tracking data revealed the plane circled the airport multiple times before attempting to return shortly after takeoff. Witnesses described hearing the plane overhead several times before seeing it crash. “The impact shook the entire building,” one bystander recounted on social media.
Emergency crews worked to extinguish the fire and secure the area. Debris from the crash was visible on nearby railroad tracks, raising concerns about traffic disruptions. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are investigating the incident.
