
A Johnston County couple was found dead Saturday in an apparent murder-suicide at their home on Chaney Drive near Cornwallis Road in Garner.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office reported that 911 dispatchers received a call from the residence around 6:44 p.m., but the caller hung up. When dispatchers returned the call, a man answered and stated that he had not called. During that call, a woman could be heard in the background asking for help. According to the dispatcher, the woman said, “Why do you want to kill me? I need help!”
Upon arriving at the scene, first responders heard what sounded like gunshots. Deputies then obtained warrants to enter the home, where they discovered the couple dead from gunshot wounds.
In a press release, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office identified the deceased as 53-year-old Christopher Pugh and 54-year-old Teresa Adams-Pugh. They were a married couple residing at 10 Chaney Drive
Pugh was a well known General Contractor/Developer in Garner. Originally from Raleigh, NC, he studied at Colorado Northwestern and Livingstone College. Adams operated a fashion and lifestyle vlog on YouTube.
