Authorities have confirmed that the body of 13-year-old Keimani Latigue, who was reported missing on March 18, has been found in an abandoned home on Miami Street in Toledo. Her father, Darnell Jones, 33, is facing charges in connection with her disappearance and death.
Jones, who also goes by Darnell Ogletree, was initially charged with third-degree felony abduction in Toledo Municipal Court, according to WTOL. However, recent reports indicate that he is now also charged with murder, supported by evidence including phone and surveillance video, as reported by WTVG.
Keimani’s Grandma, Dorothy Latigue, was picked up by authorities Monday. It’s unclear if she faces any charges. Keimani’s mother, Tiara Kasten, said she had no information what charges triggered her mother’s arrest.WTOL later reported that she was not facing any charges, citing a police spokesperson, despite social media videos appearing to show her detainment.
Keimani was last seen at a residence on Elm Street around 12:30 a.m. on March 18. Her body was discovered on the second floor of the burned-out home, and the Lucas County Coroner’s Office confirmed the identification. Authorities said Keimani was “found suffering from apparent fatal injuries,”
Police have issued a warrant for Jones’ arrest, alleging that he removed Keimani from her home without her guardian’s consent.

Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz described the situation as “terrible” and expressed hope that justice would be served. “It’s hard to put into words just how terrible an event this is,” he said.
The investigation is ongoing, with police seeking any information that could lead to Jones’ whereabouts. Those with information are encouraged to contact Toledo police or Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111.
