A woman who called 911 alleging criminal activity at 273 William Nye Drive in Atlanta, where Young Scooter was having his 39th birthday party, has been identified as Baddies alum Demi Blanco.
Authorities released details of a 911 call in which a woman told a dispatcher that criminal activity was ongoing at the address, including a kidnapped woman being beaten and dragged into the house, prompting authorities to storm the place and kick off the series of events leading to the rapper’s death.
Blanco admitted to making the ‘fraudulent’ 911 call due to being abused by her boyfriend, who is a friend of Scooter’s and was at the rapper’s party. Blanco was reportedly not invited to the party and therefore not present at the address.
Alanta police released details of the 911 call, in which the called described a domestic dispute with shots fired and a woman being dragged into a house. However, upon arrival, officers found no evidence of the reported violence or the woman in distress. Instead, they encountered Bailey and another man, both of whom fled the scene.
During the ensuing police chase, Bailey, known for his collaborations with artists like Future and Gucci Mane, suffered a fatal leg injury while attempting to jump over two fences. He was pronounced dead at Grady Memorial Hospital shortly after arrival.
Following the release of the call, which went viral, an online search kicked off, and Blanco’s identity was discovered in no time. She reportedly scrubbed her entire social media presence and released an audio claiming she only made the call because she was being abused. Blanco said she never expected anyone to get hurt but “for every reaction, there is an equal and opposite reaction,”
Atlanta police are seeking information leading to the identification of the woman who made the call, with assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the case.
“We have not been able to substantiate any of the claims made in the 911 call,” an Atlanta police officer noted during a press conference. “This is part of our ongoing investigation”.
It’s unclear if Blanco has been arrested following her admission.
Young Scooter, whose real name was Kenneth Edward Bailey, died last week on his 39th birthday after a police chase that authorities believe may have been triggered by a fraudulent 911 call.
Meanwhile, Young Thug, an associate of Scooter, disputes the official report of Bailey’s cause of death, claiming an autopsy proves police shot him.
