A Pineville, South Carolina, mother of five is dead, barely a day after sharing photos with her five children, complete with emotional messages addressing them. Danielle Mitchelle, a talented hair braider and founder of DanniStyles Braiding Studio, was reported dead by her family on Thursday, April 24, a day after sharing the photos, which she had urgently requested from the photo studio by Wednesday. The manner and timing of her death, just after sharing what seemed like ‘farewell’ posts addressing her kids, sparked speculations of self-harm online, but her family maintains Danielle died by natural causes.
Mitchell, whose kids range in age from 16 to 1, promised her followers Wednesday she was going to ‘flood the timeline’, after receiving the requested photos from the studio. She added they were going to be ‘sick’ of her by the time she was done posting.
The photos Danielle shared had different captions to send different messages. Sharing a photo of herself with all five kids, she wrote: “This is MY FAMILY! My beautiful family. Once you stop trying to fix the family you grew up with and focus on the family you’ve created, life is so much more peaceful,”

In another photo with her two daughters, Mitchell expressed her love for them both, recalling a time her ‘family’ attempted to place a wedge between them by claiming she loved one more than the other. “I never let that affect the love I have for both of you. You both have taught me so much about responsibility and have helped me become the woman I am today. I am forever grateful to have you both in my life,” she said, adding that they’re both ‘intelligent, beautiful, and kind. ‘
“Always remember that I love you, and life can be challenging, but with perseverance and determination, you can overcome anything,” she advised.

Mitchell also expressed her happiness over how well-mannered her children were. According to her, the greatest feeling in the world is having someone tell her she’s doing a great job raising her kids.

A day after all those photos went viral, Mitchell was abruptly reported dead. “Last night, we lost a beautiful soul. A light in so many lives. A mother. A daughter. A sister. A partner. A friend. A gifted stylist whose hands braided love into every strand she touched,” one Latoya Lesley shared. The news sparked waves of tributes from friends, family, loved ones, customers of Danielle’s braiding business, and others online.

The proximity of Mitchell’s death to her posts sparked wild online speculation, but her family debunked any claims of self-harm. In several posts, they asked for privacy to mourn and for people to stop sharing rumors, insisting Mitchell died of natural causes. Nevertheless, her sad story struck a chord online, sparking conversations over the fleeting nature of life and the capriciousness of fate.
