Authorities in Taylor County are investigating the deaths of Josh Mann, 44, and his wife, Becky Mann, 43, who were found dead in their rural home last week in what officials are calling a double homicide.
The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call on April 9 reporting two people “severely injured” at a residence on County Road in the town of Pershing, northwest of Gilman. Deputies discovered the bodies of Josh and Becky Mann inside the home. The couple’s deaths were later determined to be homicides, according to law enforcement officials.
A search was launched for 15-year-old Kadyn Hadden, who was identified as a person of interest in the case. Authorities issued a public alert, urging anyone with information on Hadden’s whereabouts to contact law enforcement. The search ended on April 12 when Hadden was found dead inside a vehicle in neighboring Price County. Investigators say Hadden “acted alone” and was “responsible” for the deaths of the Manns.
Josh and Becky Mann were well-known in the Gilman community. Josh operated a log trucking business, farmed, and served on the Gilman School Board. Becky was active in local businesses and community organizations. The couple is survived by four children and extended family.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at First Baptist Church in Medford, with visitation beginning Friday evening. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to support the Mann children. A GoFundMe for the couple’s four kids raised over $70,000 at the time of publication.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have indicated that additional information may be released as it becomes available.
