A 17-year-old Richmond girl has died following a crash in St. Clair County’s Casco Township.
Cheyenne Grace Rashotte died Tuesday from injuries sustained in a Saturday, April 5, crash at the intersection of Gratiot Avenue and Division Road, according to the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office.
Rashotte was driving a 2016 Jeep Cherokee east on Division Road when she failed to yield to oncoming traffic and was struck by a 2009 Ford F-150, driven by a 32-year-old Lenox woman. The crash occurred before 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
First responders transported Rashotte to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the F-150 and her two passengers, a 39-year-old man and a 2-year-old girl, were not injured. Authorities do not believe alcohol, drugs, or speed were factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
