A Farmington woman died early Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash on County Road 4 in Geneva, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the scene at approximately 2:20 a.m., where they found Alyssa Coleman, 36, unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe that Coleman was driving eastbound on County Road 4 when her vehicle veered off the southern edge of the road and struck a large tree.
Authorities have indicated that excessive speed and alcohol consumption were likely contributing factors in the crash. The Ontario County Sheriff’s Accident Reconstruction Team and Criminal Investigation Division are continuing to investigate the incident.
County Road 4 was closed for about three and a half hours Sunday morning as crews worked on the investigation and cleared the scene. The road has since reopened.
Coleman, originally from Fort Lauderdale FL, worked as a registered nurse in Rochester, NY. A wine enthusiast, she also served as a wine rep with One Hope, where she helped raise money for noble causes.
