
A 9-year-old child is dead, and her mother is in custody following an attempted murder-suicide in Atlanta, Texas. Allison French has been arrested for capital murder after allegedly stabbing her daughter, Abigail, and the child’s grandmother, Jackie Kubin, leading to the child’s death. Authorities later arrested French, who had suffered self-inflicted wounds. She was taken to a hospital and has been charged with capital murder.
The incident occurred early in the morning on Saturday, March 29. The Atlanta Police Department received a 911 call at about 6:31 a.m. from a residence off FM 74 in Bloomburg, Cass County. Kubin, who had escaped French’s attack, ran to a neighbor’s house for help and the neighbor called 911. Kubin relayed information about French’s fleeing vehicle to the neighbor who informed police.
Authorities arrived at the area soon after and found Abigail with severe trauma from the attack. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. The child’s grandmother was also treated for self-defense wounds.
Authorities commenced a hunt for the suspect and located her abandoned vehicle off FM 74. Utilizing a drone, French was located and transported to the hospital for treatment.
A warrant for Capital Murder was obtained against French. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Parks & Wildlife Officers, the Atlanta Police Department, and ESD 3 were all involved in the case. More updates are expected in the coming days.
