A two-vehicle crash in Winslow Township, Camden County, left a couple dead and five others injured, including their three children, on Sunday afternoon.
The accident occurred around 3 p.m. on Sicklerville Road near Sheridan Drive, according to local authorities. Responding officers found six people injured between the two vehicles. One person was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital, while three juveniles were transported there by ambulance. Two others were rushed by ambulance to Jefferson Washington Township Hospital.
Authorities did not identify the deceased persons pending notification of next-of-kin. A GoFundMe identified them as a Sicklerville couple, Ameera Lewis and her partner.
Lewis and her partner had three children: Mikey (5), Karma (4), and Kylah (7) months. The 5-year-old was paralyzed from the crash, the fundraiser said, while the 4-year-old suffered a concussion. The youngest remains under observation.
The fundraiser, intended to cover memorial and funeral expenses, had raised almost $8,000 at the time of publication.
According to authorities, the cause of the crash remains under investigation. The Winslow Township Police Highway Safety Unit is leading the investigation.
